Energy Star

Just like small electronic devices, TVs or home appliances can be EnergyStar Certified, so can your home! The EnergyStar Labeling Program is proof that your home is at least 20% better than a code minimum home. This is comparable to Step 3 of the BC Energy Step Code. In addition to being more efficient, the EnergyStar Standard requires elevated building practices such as EnergyStar windows and doors, a heat recovery ventilator, and advanced airtightness.

The benefits of an EnergyStar Certified home are lower energy bills for the homeowner and peace of mind that the home you are buying or selling has good indoor air quality and energy-saving products. If you are a builder already building to Step 3 of the BC Energy Step Code, EnergyStar could be a great marketing strategy to set your home apart from the competition. The EnergyStar Symbol is globally recognized which is why it has proven to be a successful marketing strategy for builders across Canada.
